Meet Roxie! 🖤

Her est DOB is 12/02/22. She is a Catahoula/Pittie mix, weighs 60lbs, and is spayed & HW-negative.

Roxie only has one kidney, but please don’t let that scare you away! Due to this she eats a prescription diet food, but every bloodwork check we’ve done shows she’s doing great. She will live a long and happy life with only one kidney.

Her foster mom has this to say:

"Roxie has been such an amazing girl. Roxie had not lived in a home before she came to us but she adapted quickly to our routines. She is easy to train and teach new things. She enjoys walks, hiking, running in the yard and also being lazy sleeping on the couch, dog bed, or recliner. Roxie can be the biggest baby and loves when her humans come home from school or work. She greets us with the zoomies and wiggles every day.

Roxie can be a bit anxious at times, but with calm guidance and learning her triggers, she has been able to thrive. She can be dog-selective but has shown with the right dog she can be friendly and playful. She loves puppies! We are able to be around other dogs on walks and in public, but she can still be choosy about which dogs she will get close too. Overall, I think she would do best in a home with no other dogs, and cats are not for her.

Roxie is good with kids as well but over the age of 6 would be best. She gets anxious and scared around their quick movements not knowing what is happening. All of my kids have learned how to approach her, so she has become pretty relaxed with them. She has shown over time that she is less anxious as she becomes more comfortable. That said, please don’t let this deter you from considering her! She is an amazing dog and if you are willing to put in some work with her (she makes it easy), she will pay you back with all the love and snuggles!"
