Adoption Fee: $450

FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPTER NEEDED

Meet Gus! (fka Sebastian) He is a suspected herding-breed mix . . . possibly Australian Shepherd/Collie/Cattle Dog. He is 7-8 months old, and neutered.

His foster mom has this to say:

“Gus is high energy with puppy tendencies, and we are working on manners training as far as jumping & being nippy. He is house and crate trained. Gus is good with young female dogs with similar energy. He has tried to dominate our male Pit-mix to the point we now have to keep them separated, so no male dogs, or maybe a very submissive male.

He loves to run and play and be outside. He likes to go for walks but is very reactive to cars driving by. He rides very well in a car and doesn’t mind when other cars drive by when he’s in the car, but during walks he is very reactive when they drive by. He loves to play fetch, tug, and chew on toys and bones.”

Gus needs further training not to jump up & nip when he wants attention, so a home with older kids or no kids would be best. He is currently in a foster home with kids 11 & older.

We had been told that Gus is not good with cats. However, there is a cat in the current foster home and they report that he has not chased or bothered the cat yet. This could be due to now having other dogs in the same home to play with for an energy outlet.
