Could Flynn be any cuter? He is an approximately 4-year-old Terrier mix.
We have posted in the past that Flynn is iffy with other dogs, but that seems to be mostly leash-based. When he is on leash and encounters another dog on leash, the Little Dog Attitude comes out. However, his foster mom has several of her own dogs and had this to say:
“He is good with my dogs inside and outside. He does protect his crate and toys, but my dog Dexter has taken toys away with no major issues. I feed him separately from my dogs in his crate. He is definitely leash-reactive, but I am sure that could be worked with.”
His foster mom keeps a belly band on him as a precaution, but as long as she gets him out for a potty break every few hours, it is always dry. However, housetraining is certainly something that could be worked on to eliminate the need for a belly band.
Flynn is a wily little fella, so we definitely recommend crating when home alone & overnight. He is also always looking for the next adventure, so a very securely fenced yard or a commitment to keeping him on a leash/lead outdoors is necessary.
If you can get past his quirks, he really is an awesome little dog. Super-cute goes without saying. But he has a great personality and is always very outgoing & friendly with people at our adoption events, wanting to be petted by total strangers. He spent the day with one of our volunteers and was a very good boy, letting her dress him in sweaters and pose for pictures, and he did great in the car during the forty minute ride each way. We did learn, however, that Flynn cannot live with cats.
