Introducing Eddie!

He is approx 9 years old, and believed to be a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix.

His foster dad has this to say:

"I have been Eddie’s foster since the end of July. He really is a sweetheart. He is a bit odd, but lovable. He loves my other 3 dogs. He sleeps with us in bed, and under the covers.

He is house and crate trained, although I never crate him. We only used the crate a week or two, to make sure he was safe, and no accidents and no destruction. He does submissive-pee when he gets nervous or anxious with 'outside' people, so he must get to know anyone who will care for him while you vacation.

He has some neurological problems in his hind legs, but he still walks 1 - 1.25 miles at a time, daily. I put socks on his hind legs because he drags them and his nails file down until they bleed unless you put socks on him. No shoes, he won’t move, but he is very willing to wear the socks. He can do stairs; he is cautious, but he manages them like pro, and we have a lot of stairs.

Eddie can hear, but sometimes can’t figure out where its coming from. He is on no meds, nor any meds are required at this time. He was at the vet on Mon 2/13, and got a clean bill of health.

He is not a big fan of grass. Not sure what his living conditions were before he came to Salfid, but he prefers to potty on concrete. He is not aggressive at all, food or otherwise, never growls. The only person he barks at is the mailman, but his tail wags the entire time.

He is a great traveler; I’ve taken him on camping trips and to lacrosse games. He’s a crowd pleaser. Eddie truly is a lovable, sweet dog. He loves treats, but has gotten a bit chunky with me.

He rarely plays, but on occasion he will and it truly warms your heart, he just doesn’t know how. He’s not a dog for young children who want to play with their doggy. Please be patient with him, you will end up loving him, but it won’t be immediate."
